Open-Source GIScience with QGIS


In this course, you will explore the open-source QGIS software for working with geosptial data, performing spatial analysis, and processing remotely sensed data. You will also explore associated technologies including GDAL, PROJ, GRASS, SAGA, and Orfeo Toolbox. It is assumed that you have some prior experience working with geospatial and remotely sensed data; however, no prior experience with QGIS is assumed. If you do not have a GIS or remote sensing background, I would recommend checking out the West Virginia View Introduction to GIScience and Remote Sensing classes. This coure will not make use of coding or scripting languages.
